Taking Good Photos Project Assignement By: Ousmane Yonis

This picture is about light; it’s got a shade in the front and light in the background. This relates to light because of its angle of the light entering the frame. But if I was shooting at night I can create all sorts of cool effects like lights in motion, pictures with moonlight, or silhouettes. Shadows can be very powerful when cast over half of someone's face.

This is also another light photo because of the angle and light. The angle of light should be taken into careful consideration whenever you feel like you want to create a specific effect. In this photo on the right the light is striking the grass and flowers from the rear light of the camera and this adds more depth to the picture. Also adds more coloring because if front-lighting was used on the flowers it would likely be over exposed, and if back-lighting was used on the flower then it would just be black like a silhouette.

This picture is a landscape picture because; In order to show the depth of a landscape it is very important to include some type of foreground element. Without something in the foreground, the viewer has no way to distinguish distances or sizes; everything looks more flat and closer to the camera. But when using foreground elements in landscape photos make sure you use a very narrow aperture (high f/stop) so the whole scene will be in focus.

This picture is also a lanscape photo because I use framing and Framing is the tactic of using natural surroundings to add more meaning to your subject. It could be anything such as bushes, trees, a window, or even a doorway. A good example of this would be tree branches that occupy the top part of the frame pointing out at your landscape kind of like this picture here.

I know this is a building photograph because. Photography is all about light. The best light is in the early morning or in the late afternoon. You usually get better color in your pictures if you photograph early and late - not only are there great skies at those times of day to provide a striking backdrop, the camera picks up the colors better.

This is a color picture because you always have too shoot in fully manual. Colors are what add heart and emotion to your pictures. Certain color configurations can inspire awe and amazement in onlookers. It’ll be too dark for your auto focus, and the rapidly changing lights mean that your light meter is worthless. Colors can be used to add all sorts of accents and effects, but you must be careful to not draw attention away from the main subject.

This is a composition picture because composition is the combining of distinct parts or elements to form a whole. Once you learn these rules and strategies you will be more prepared to find great picture spots and opportunities. Before you just step up and take a picture you should consider what you want your viewers to look at and how you should display main points of interest.

This is another composition picture you should ask yourself, what is the main subject? What angle should the light be hitting in my picture? Is there anything that could accentuate the main subject? Where should the main subject be in the frame? These are all important things you should consider, but that doesn't necessarily mean you need to follow the rules exactly.

This is a people photograph even though there is only one person this shows happiness and enjoyment. For taking photographs of people you usually use Flash photography this is when the camera flash bulb in a variety of possible situations where there doesn’t seem to be enough light. The most common use of flash photography is group portraits at gatherings where there is not enough light to take a satisfactory exposure but just people will also do.

This is a color picture as u can see redder colors can create a warmer sense for your shots then blue or green. Color affects the way we look at pictures so aim to use color in your pictures. Look for color like red, green, blue, yellow and purple, to add tension and drama. (Using shades of the same color will create harmony)

This is also another color picture as u can tell redder colors can create a warmer sense for your shots and not only make up an exhibition of varied and beautiful color pictures of flowers but also represent a coherent exploration of the very nature of color. (Color pictures are very useful for photos it gives u the texture and background and does not keep your picture empty and boring.)
